Women's Education and Literacy in Nepal

WELNepal is a charitable organization. It was established in the autumn of 2005 to fund women's literacy classes for the villages in the Chitwan area of Nepal (map). However, literacy for women is only the first step in their empowerment. Women's development groups, microbanks, and income-generating programs will further aid the Nepali women on their path to independence. WELNepal is committed to helping the women of Nepal in all these programs. It is not WELNepal's mission to pass judgment on their culture and society. It is up to the women of Nepal to make changes they deem necessary in their lives, their families, and ultimately their country. This can only be done through literacy, education, and organization.
